"The common theme with all figurine-based work seems to be an underlying tone of existentialism. We prove that we exist by creating smaller versions of ourselves. We have the opportunity as children to practice real life scenarios with dolls. We see our aging faces reflected in the distorted forms of bronze figures. Our big human emotions become so evident when displayed in a miniature scale and external shape. This figure sits with a small body but the weight and depth of larger feelings. He seems to have lost the light for himself trying to shine bright for others. The green envy and jealousy has escaped his chest. He’s not quite falling apart yet, maybe he can scoop it all back in."
